CHUCK WALL JR.  (3rd Degree Black Belt)
HEAD INSTRUCTOR

Sensei Chuck is a 3rd Degree Black Belt (Sandan) and began Judo at a very young age.  Competing in local, regional and national level tournamens starting at age 5 he has more than 22 decades of competitive experience.  Teaching Judo is a family affair, his father is a 5th Degree Black Belt and International Refree, his mother a Black Belt; all toghether they have opened and instructed at more than 8 dojo’s across Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Virginia.

Chuck has trained with numerous world class instructors and competitors.  Chuck recieved his 1st Degree Black Belt while a student of Sensei Sachio Ashida (9th Degree Black Belt, former US Olympic Coach and A-Level referee) while he was attending the State University of New York at Brockport.  Doc Ashida, as most people referred to him began his training at age 12 in Kyoto Japan and recieved his black belt at age 18.  In 1953  Dr. Ashida was appointed as the Kodokan Representative to the United States.  Chuck has also studied under other reknowned Judo instructors to include Jimmy Takemore (9th Degree Black Belt and founder of the Pentagon Judo Club and currently head instructor of the Washington Judo Club at Georgetown University).

Chuck is also retired Marine and veteran of the Iraq War; serving in Fallujah from 2005 – 2006 and is a Bronze Star recipient.

CHARLIE WALL SR. (5th Degree Black Belt)

TECHNICAL ADVISOR – PAN-AMERICAN REFEREE

Charlie Wall is currently an active member in the Hudson Yudanshakai of the United States Judo Federation and acting as our Technical Advisor as well as father of Head Instructor Chuck Wall.  A Life Time Member of USJF, Sensei Wall holds the rank of Godan (5th degree black) and is a Pan American Level Referee.  He is now an assistant instructor at the Kokushi Dojo (at the Wykoff YMCA) in New Jersey under Sensei Ogasawara (8th Dan) and David Otani.

Charlie Wall Sr. began his Judo career sometime in the 1960′s but won’t say exactly when.  His first instructors were Sensei’s Charlie Chaves and Mas Yanagi at the Tohoku Judo Club in the Boston area.  He has held Yudanshakai level offices as past President and member of the Board of Examiner of Empire Judo Yudanshakai, past Board of Examiner member of Hudson Yudanshakai, and ran his own judo programs in Norwich and Hamburg, New York and the Old Colony Judo Club in Plymouth, MA.
